Press Releases: BlueSky’s response to today’s Dynamic Travel Market BlueSky Travel Systems, the leading provider of open travel distribution software, will be exhibiting at the Travel Technology show and extends an invitation to come and visit their stand, C32, and enjoy a Dynamically Packaged Cocktail whilst reviewing BlueSky’s itour Travel Distribution Suite™, packaged to meet the needs of today’s travel operators. In addition, BlueSky and its Mobile partner Kirona are pioneering a project to provide Intelligent Mobile (Motile) access to the itour Travel Distribution Suite. A demonstration of this software will also be showcased on the stand. Recent years have seen dramatic changes in the travel industry. The advent of low cost carriers and the emergence of the web as a channel for accessing customers has significantly enlarged the market geographically and increased consumer choice. Hotels and car hire are no longer tied to flight seats but can be independently sourced by consumers. Traditional tour operators are forced to offer an online option to compete with increasing availability. The itour Travel Distribution Suite™ has been designed to embrace these market changes. Based around core functionality, there are four key itour editions, each tailored to specific types of travel operator but, crucially, based on a single application architecture which can be implemented separately or combined into a single solution. itour Mass Market Edition is for traditional pre-packaged holiday suppliers of all sizes, itour Tailor Made Edition is for specialist travel operators, itour Online Edition is for online travel operators and itour Global Travel Edition is for large scale global travel providers. In addition businesses can select from a wide range of optional modules to implement a solution that meets their business requirements. Stephen Driscoll, Managing Director of BlueSky, says “In order to succeed in today’s increasingly complex and competitive dynamic travel market, travel operators of all sizes need to embrace the challenges and opportunities presented to them. They need to achieve more flexible channel access to their products, create more opportunities to maximize market penetration and yield, whilst also being able to deliver more bookings in less time.” Stephen Driscoll will be speaking at the Travel Technology Show on how dynamic packaging is evolving, sharing recent market research conducted on existing solutions in the market. This session will take place in A2 between 11.15am and 12.30pm, Room 1 on Tuesday 13 February 2007. |
